We recently held a program (presented by our Increasing Diversity in Philanthropy Committee and The NYC Collaborative for Fairness and Equity in Philanthropy) which focused on the distribution of federal stimulus dollars and the impact of those dollars on communities of color. One of the initiatives discussed during the program was the New York Stimulus Alliance, which was created to track federal stimulus money coming into New York State, increase the transparency of the process, and maximize the impact of the stimulus for all New Yorkers. We are pleased to have Maria Mottola, Executive Director of the New York Foundation, explain the work of the Alliance for our readers.
