As part of our collaborative film series, please join our partners, Media Impact Funders and the Justice Reform Working Group to a special clips and conversation on the PBS POV series Philly DA. This series centers the campaign and election of Larry Krasner, former civil rights attorney. It raises interesting questions about the policy and political issues related to the criminal legal system – and questions of corruption and reform in this field.

During the session, we’ll watch several clips and engage in a conversation about the impact of the series, and what this means for criminal legal reform, particularly in the grantmaking space.

Explore

  • Larry Krasner’s campaign and election to Philadelphia’s District Attorney and what his experience can mean for DA offices nationally

  • The role funders can play in shifting the narrative around the criminal legal system, people who have been impacted by, and those who disrupt or uphold its structure

  • How film can illuminate social issues and organize educational impact efforts
