Documentaries can inspire real social change and improve lives. With support from the Ford Foundation JustFilms initiative and USAID, ITVS uses documentary film to tackle some of the toughest challenges facing women and girls around the world, with exciting signs of progress in the fight against child marriage, gender-based violence, and teen pregnancy.

This celebration of Women and Girls Lead Global, a multiyear partnership that’s testing new storytelling and engagement strategies in India, Bangladesh, Kenya, Jordan, and Peru, will include an inside look at on-the-ground methods from WGLG-Bangladesh country engagement coordinator, Mahmud Hasan, and a screening of selections from the award-winning documentary Driving with Selvi. Selvi Kunjigowda, South India’s first female taxi driver and the subject of the film, will be in attendance.

Please join the Ford Foundation JustFilms, ITVS, and USAID as we hear from thinkers at the intersection of media and social change. Special guests will include Patricia Harrison, president and CEO of CPB; Sally Jo Fifer, president and CEO of ITVS; and Kimberley Sevcik, director of WGLG.
