A Philanthropy New York International Grantmakers Network program.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Key staff for international programs at Philanthropy New York member organizations. The discussion will focus on the operational issues associated with grantmaking internationally.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

Philanthropy New York's core role as a convener of grantmakers has led us to create several networks that help grantmakers connect with each other and share best practices. In response to requests from members, we have created a new professional peer network for international grantmakers to share practical and strategic questions around operational issues related to international grantmaking.

For this next meeting, Liz McKeon, Director of the Ford Foundation’s Special Initiative on Urban Poverty in Developing Countries, will walk through the life cycle of an international grant, focusing on areas that present common challenges for funders. Jan Jaffe, Senior Director at the Ford Foundation and Founder of GrantCraft, will moderate the discussion and help us identify topics that would benefit from deeper discussion at future International Grantmakers Network meetings.
