After 20 months of supporting and working closely with community-based organizations in neighborhoods most heavily impacted by Hurricane Sandy, North Star Fund published: "From The Edge Of Disaster: How Activists and Insiders Can Use the Lessons of Hurricane Sandy to Make the City Safer" earlier this spring.
Now we're bringing together a panel of leaders in philanthropy, government, and community-based organizations for a funder briefing on the lessons of Hurricane Sandy. Together we'll review the report's recommendations and put them in context: What is happening today? Where have we made progress? What are next steps for a fair and just rebuilding? Are we better prepared for the next storm?
