The New York City Workforce Funders Collaborative supports robust, coherent, and effective workforce development systems for low-income New Yorkers. Since 2001, the collaborative has catalyzed initiatives to drive systems reform in partnership with city government agencies and workforce development intermediaries.  The collaborative’s 12 member foundations pool funds and make joint decisions to support projects.  The collaborative also leads a network of over 40 NYC funders committed to workforce development.  The goals of this network are to strengthen the philanthropic sector’s workforce strategy and to facilitate dialogue and alignment across philanthropy, city and state agencies, employers, training organizations, intermediaries, and academic institutions.

Civic Hall’s mission is to foster innovation, education, and collaboration in New York City’s tech economy with a commitment to expanding opportunities for all. Located in the heart of the NYC tech community at Union Square, Civic Hall is a new, 85,000-square-foot learning and training center serving as the nucleus for advancing educational and entrepreneurial opportunities and innovation. Civic Hall facilitates partnerships among digital skill workforce development partners and tech companies who hire their trainees and also fosters a collaborative work environment to collectively meet the needs of all New Yorkers, especially those from underestimated populations.
