Widely regarded as one of our greatest living documentary filmmakers, Frederick Wiseman has spent his nearly 50-year career making films that capture the drama and nuance of American institutions. His work unflinchingly documents the everyday life of places like schools, hospitals, and prisons, and the people who pass through them.
The Ford Foundation has proudly supported Wiseman's work since 1971. To celebrate the upcoming release of his 40th documentary, In Jackson Heights, we hope you’ll join us for a special retrospective featuring clips from several of Wiseman’s films. The evening will include a conversation with Frederick Wiseman himself, moderated by Kent Jones, director of the New York Film Festival.
