Bank of America Charitable Foundation Tackles Workforce Development in Baltimore
The Bank of America Charitable Foundation today announced $352,500 in grants to 29 nonprofits focused on providing workforce development and education opportunities in Baltimore. These grants are part of the bank’s broader philanthropic investment in helping individuals and families in Baltimore lead stronger financial lives.
Securing and maintaining stable jobs has been a challenge in Baltimore. The city’s unemployment rate was 8.1 percent as of March 2015, compared with 5.5 percent for the state of Maryland.
