POSITION

The Director / Information Technology (IT) will oversee the foundation’s IT infrastructure and cybersecurity, ensuring secure, efficient and cost-effective operations that help advance the foundation’s mission. This role combines hands-on management of core IT support with strategic direction, focusing on optimizing operations, managing contract partners, reducing costs and safeguarding the foundation’s data and systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • IT Infrastructure and Support: Oversee and manage the foundation’s IT infrastructure to ensure reliable, secure and efficient operations.
    • Provide hands-on support where needed while directing the overall IT strategy and initiatives.
    • Ensure the high availability, performance and security of all network services.
    • Develop and execute a cloud strategy that enhances scalability and flexibility.
  • Cybersecurity and Disaster Recovery: Implement and enforce IT security policies to protect the foundation’s data and systems.
    • Lead disaster recovery efforts, ensuring the development and maintenance of comprehensive backup and business continuity plans.
    • Proactively monitor for and address cybersecurity threats, minimizing risks to the foundation.
  • Operational Leadership and Resource Management: Manage IT operations, ensuring effective team leadership, resource allocation and vendor partnerships to achieve strategic objectives and maintain cost efficiency.
    • Lead and manage a team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
    • Balance hands-on IT support with strategic oversight of all IT operations.
    • Define and execute IT strategies that align with DDF’s mission and goals.
    • Drive initiatives to reduce IT costs by optimizing resources, streamlining vendor relationships and improving operational efficiency.
    • Manage relationships with contract partners, ensuring high-quality service delivery and alignment with organizational objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive experience in IT infrastructure management, with a proven track record of leading and inspiring teams to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in networking, systems administration and cloud computing, with hands-on experience.
  • Proven ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical support in a mission-driven environment.
  • Experience in optimizing IT operations, reducing total IT costs and managing contract partners.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Anticipated salary range is $160,000-$200,000, and the final offer will depend on experience.
  • Industry-leading benefits, including a 15% employer contribution to 401(k), health insurance, four weeks paid vacation with additional time off and matching gift benefits of up to $20,000 per year—all designed to support employees’ well-being, productivity and engagement.
