On November 20, 2014, President Obama announced a new policy that could allow nearly five million undocumented immigrants, mostly parents of U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents, to apply for temporary work permits and avoid deportation. The President’s Immigration Accountability Executive Actions also expand eligibility for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), among other provisions. Given the scope and scale of this policy directive, Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees (GCIR) is organizing a webinar series to help philanthropy understand this new policy and its far-reaching implications for immigrants in communities across the United States.
This program will focus on key provisions of the policy, eligible immigrants, and issues that funders should consider.
