The Charles H. Revson Foundation Awarded Over $3 Million in Grants to 12 Recipients.
The Board of Directors approved grants within three of the Foundation’s program areas, “Biomedical Research,” “Education,” and “Jewish Life.” The Biomedical Research program strengthens research in the biomedical sciences through two fellowship awards. Annually, the Revson Foundation offers the competitive Charles H. Revson Senior Fellowship in Biomedical Science to eight researchers, at participating New York institutions, who show extraordinary talent in postdoctoral studies. Revson also supports the Weizmann Institute of Science’s Postdoctoral Program for Advancing Women in Science, which provides supplementary financial support to Israeli women scientists who have been awarded postdoctoral fellowships in North America.
The Education Program supports institutions and projects that seek to provide broad access to knowledge, information, and resources that sustain an informed and engaged citizenry. This grant cycle, the program funded advocacy for public policies to strengthen local news and supported an ambitious effort to build an accessible ecosystem of civic engagement opportunities for young New Yorkers.
The Jewish Life Program works to improve social and economic outcomes for communities in Israel and North America by building capacity in under-resourced fields, like civic service and urban planning in Israel and Jewish chaplaincy in North America. This cycle, the program provided funding to increase Arab employment in Israel’s private sector, support opportunities for Muslims and Jews to study together, and to mobilize the Jewish community in support of electoral fairness and democratic integrity in the United States.
