New York Community Trust and the Jerome L. Greene Foundation to Provide Accessible Tickets in New York City
The New York Community Trust and the Jerome L. Greene Foundation have established a fund to support accessible tickets at 12 New York City theatres. The one-year grants will gift each of the theatres amounts ranging from $100,000 to $250,000 to support community access programs, discounted ticket outreach, young member programs, and more. The fund aims to diversify audiences and reach potential theatergoers throughout all five boroughs.
“Making sure all New Yorkers can benefit from our city’s treasure trove of cultural offerings is an aim that our foundations share,” said Kerry McCarthy, the New York Community Trust’s vice president for philanthropic initiatives, in a statement. “We love any opportunity to apply our local expertise to help like-minded foundations fulfill their charitable goals.”
The initial round of one-year grants will be awarded to the Apollo Theater, Atlantic Theater Company, Billie Holiday Theatre, Classical Theatre of Harlem, New York City Center, Playwrights Horizons, Pregones Theater, Roundabout Theatre Company, Second Stage, Signature Theater, St. Ann’s Warehouse, and Theatre for a New Audience...
