Citi Foundation Pledges $10 Million To "My Brother's Keeper"
As part of a group of funders making additional commitments to the White House's "My Brother's Keeper" initiative, Citi Foundation will provide $10 million over three years to underwrite volunteer programs in 10 cities designed to increase college preparedness for minority populations.
Other funders signing on to the initiative to help young minority men include AT&T; the Emerson Collective, a nonprofit organization founded by the widow of Steve Jobs; Discovery Communications; and the National Baskeball Association.
NBA hall-of-famer Magic Johnson and Deloitte CEO Joe Echevarria also are launching a “National Convening Council” designed to bring together business, philanthropic, and faith leaders to coordinate their efforts to help young men of color....
