The Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation in Morristown, New Jersey, has announced grants totaling nearly $3.8 million to nonprofit organizations in the state working in the areas of the arts, education, the environment, and community improvement.
The foundation awarded forty-five grants totaling nearly $1.6 million through its Arts focus area, including a grant of $230,000 to Creative New Jersey, which works to foster creativity, cross-sector collaboration, and inclusion as a way to build thriving, equitable communities. Through its Education focus area, the foundation awarded thirty-two grants totaling nearly $1.2 million, including a grant of $140,000 to Arts Ed NJ in support of that organization's work to advance arts education for all children in the state. Through its "Informed Communities" focus area, the foundation awarded five grants totaling $480,000, including a grant of $145,000 to the Free Press in support of its News Voices project, and a grant of $100,000 to the Center for Cooperative Media in support of its work to grow, support, and strengthen the news and information ecosystem in the state for the benefit of residents.
