The relationship between peace and security and human rights is complex. The protection and promulgation of human rights are essential to creating peaceful societies, yet, when peace is threatened, human rights are often sacrificed in the name of security.

Join the International Grantmakers Network, the Peace and Security Funders Group and Human Rights Funders Network for a conversation around funding for human rights and peace and security. Vis-à-vis mappings of their respective fields (Advancing Human Rights and the Peace and Security Funding Index), Rachel LaForgia (Peace and Security Funders Group) and Sarah Tansey (Human Rights Funders Network), together with Lauren Bradford (Foundation Center), will unpack the complex relationship between human rights and peace and security, and facilitate a roundtable discussion on what it means for funders in this brown bag lunch (bring your own!).
