Here Are 5 Things To Know About The ESSA Plan New York Is Sending To Betsy Devos
New York’s top education policymakers are set to approve a major plan Monday that could reshape the way the state evaluates schools, intervenes in those that are struggling, and several other key education policies.
The federal Every Student Succeeds Act requires each state to craft a plan and submit it to the U.S. Education Department, which 16 states and the District of Columbia have already done. If New York’s Board of Regents vote on Monday to accept it, then it will head to Education Secretary Betsy DeVos’ agency for final approval. . .
