Joan Mitchell Foundation Announces 2017 Young Artist Residency Pilot Recipients
The Joan Mitchell Foundation is excited to announce the four recipients of the 2017 Young Artist Residency Pilot Program. This program will provide each artist with a two week residency experience at the Joan Mitchell Center in New Orleans.

To identify artist nominees, the Foundation engaged nominators in New Orleans to recommend artists who they felt met the criteria of this pilot program. New York nominees were invited from JMF Art Education program alumni pool. Then, a secondary independent jury panel met this spring and selected the four residency recipients through a rigorous review process, similar to other Joan Mitchell Foundation review panels. Nominators and jurors included visual artists, arts administrators, and individuals from the academic arts community.
