Mellon Foundation Awards Nearly $3.8 Million for Theater Program
The New England Foundation for the Arts has announced a three-year, $3.77 million grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to continue the work of the National Theater Project.
NTP promotes the development and touring of artist-led, ensemble, and devised theater works. To that end, NEFA will use the grant to make several elements of the program permanent.
They include annual convenings for grantees; Finalist Development Grants of up to $10,000 for a small number of finalists that do not receive a Creation and Touring Grant; and Transition Grants, which are designed to help former NTP grantees boost their sustainability.
