New York Community Trust Helps Mexican Students with Resident-Led Advocacy and Organizing

For over two decades, community organizing has been a central tool in the New York Community Trust’s strategy to improve the accessibility and quality of public education in New York City. 

The Mexican American Student Association (Masa), a NYCT grantee and small grassroots organization that works closely with its South Bronx and Mott Haven communities on education and immigrant issues, engages families through parent committees to voice concerns, share knowledge and best practices.
