Westchester Community Foundation Helps Students Turn Opportunity Into College Degrees

Walter Ramos described his journey from Yonkers to Southern Vermont College in two words: culture shock.

Last month, Ramos and three other former Yonkers Public Schools students graduated from the private liberal-arts college in Vermont's Green Mountains with four-year degrees partly paid for by the Yonkers Partners In Education and the Westchester Community Foundation's Albertina Bloom Scholarship.
