Weinberg Foundation Approves $400,000 in Emergency Response Funding for 10 Baltimore Nonprofits
The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation today announced $400,000 in emergency grants to 10 Baltimore nonprofits – current Weinberg grantees – following recent unrest and violence in Baltimore City.
“Based on all of the information that we have obtained, we believe this is a focused and sensitive response that will provide direct assistance to low-income individuals, youth, families, and seniors impacted by the recent events,” said Rachel Garbow Monroe, Weinberg Foundation President and CEO. “While we are working to develop a deliberate and longer-term Foundation strategy for our grantmaking to have even a greater impact in Baltimore City, the Weinberg Foundation wants to provide immediate support to existing grantees which are already providing vital services in impacted areas....”
