Virginia "Ginnie" Sloane, President Emeritus of the Heckscher Foundation for Children, Dies at 91
Philanthropist and civic leader Virginia Sloane died on August 24 after a lengthy illness. She was 91.
Sloane was elected President of the Heckscher Foundation for Children in 1986 and was appointed President Emeritus in 2012. Under her leadership the foundation provided funding to many of the leading social service programs and cultural institutions in New York and elsewhere in support of its mission to level the playing field for underserved youth by providing access to education and experiences that make for a richer, more forward-reaching life....
