Tart, Goodwin Win Carnegie Writing Awards
 
Under a program funded by Carnegie Corporation of New York, Donna Tartt won an award for fiction and Doris Kearns Goodwin won for nonfiction.
 
Tartt won the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction for her novel "The Goldfinch" and Goodwin won the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Nonfiction for "The Bully Pulpit: Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, and the Golden Age of Journalism."
 
The awards, which are cosponsored by the American Library Association, Booklist and Reference and User Services, were established in 2012....
