Sloan Foundation Supports Science on Screen Film Series
The Bozeman Film Society (BFS) continues its Science on Screen film series on Saturday, April 30, with the mega blockbuster “Jurassic World” (PG-13, 123 minutes) at the Ellen Theatre.
“Jurassic World” screenings at 3 and 7 p.m. open with a presentation by Bozeman’s own world-renowned paleontologist, retiring curator of paleontology at Bozeman’s Museum of the Rockies and recipient of the prestigious MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship Dr. Jack Horner.
Funded by the Coolidge Corner Theatre Foundation and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, BFS is one of only 23 independent non-profit cinemas from across the country awarded SoS grants to expand film and scientific literacy by creatively pairing screenings of popular culture and documentary films with lively presentations by local scientists...
