Sam Adler-Bell, Policy Associate at the Century Foundation, Spoke With WNYC About the Ongoing J20 Case

On January 20th, thousands of people came to Washington to protest President Trump's inauguration. Nearly a year later, about 200 people who participated in those protests continue to face multiple felony charges in the D.C. Superior Court.

Jury deliberations are underway for the first six of those defendants, who are awaiting a verdict that could come this week. The outcome of this case could have major implications for protest movements and free speech.
