Rockefeller Family Fund Calls ExxonMobil’s Conduct ‘Morally Reprehensible’

David Kaiser, a fifth-generation member of the Rockefeller family, and Lee Wasserman, director of the Rockefeller Family Fund, wrote an article in the New York Review of Books calling out ExxonMobil for “morally reprehensible conduct.”

“For over a quarter-century, the company tried to deceive policymakers and the public about the realities of climate change, protecting its profits at the cost of immense damage to life on this planet,” Kaiser and Wasserman wrote.

The Rockefeller Family Fund had previously announced that it would divest its holdings in fossil fuel companies. Although the charity plans for the divestment to be gradual, it will divest from ExxonMobil immediately, the article said...
