Reed: Dreamer Bill Could Be Part Of Broader Border Security Legislation
Southern Tier Republican Rep. Tom Reed said he’s in favor of a permanent solution for former Deferred Action of Childhood Arrival (DACA) recipients. He believes there is far-reaching support for legislation to help undocumented immigrants who came to the country as children, also known as Dreamers.
Last week, President Donald Trump chose not to continue the Obama-era executive order which allowed Dreamers to live, work and go to school in the United States.
“I think there’s recognition that that problem needs to be resolved in a way that is compassionate to those children,” Reed said during his weekly press call. . .
