Pershing Square Foundation Backs Initiative to Provide Scholarships to Undocumented Immigrants
TheDream.us has announced pledges totaling $30 million in support of its national scholarship fund, which aims to provide scholarships to at least five thousand undocumented immigrants with DACA (deferred action for childhood arrivals) status.
Commitments of $15 million each from former Washington Post publisher Donald E. Graham and the Pershing Square Foundation, which was established by Giving Pledge signatory Bill Ackman, will provide twelve hundred "DREAMers" with $25,000 scholarships that can be used to obtain a bachelor's degree at any of TheDream.us national partner colleges.
