New York Life Backs Save the Children's Relief Efforts in Nepal

New York Life announced today it will donate $50,000 to Save the Children.  Nearly two million children are believed to be affected by last Saturday’s deadly earthquake in Nepal, which has claimed more than 7,000 lives.

Ted Mathas, chairman and CEO of New York Life, said, “The New York Life community believes our obligation to be there for people when they need us most extends beyond our day-to-day business.  We have the victims, their families and the relief workers in our thoughts as they begin to recover and rebuild from this natural disaster.”

The earthquake that struck Nepal last week was the largest to occur in the region in more than 80 years.  To assist those displaced by the disaster, Save the Children has begun the delivery of supplies to families in the areas that need it most.

Save the Children has worked in Nepal since 1976 and has extensive programs throughout the country.  For more information, visit www.savethechildren.org.
