New York Community Trust Adds Funds to the QueensWay Plan
The QueensWay gets greener even as the leaves on the trees growing along the abandoned Rockaway Beach Rail Line turn orange and red.
The New York Community Trust has given the Trust for Public Land a $100,000 grant for the QueensWay, a proposed 3.5-mile elevated park that would be built upon the defunct rail tracks, according to an Oct. 5 release detailing the group’s 84 total grants given to various nonprofits.
Over $443,000 was given to the trust through Gov. Cuomo’s New York City Regional Economic Development Council last December. . .
