Ms. Foundation For Women and New York Women's Foundation Take A Stand With Prosperity Together
Members of Prosperity Together, a nonpartisan coalition of 29 public women’s foundations dedicated to empowering low-income women and their families, are joining together for a #GivingTuesday campaign. #GivingTuesday is a one-day initiative on November 28 that encourages collective action and philanthropy throughout the world as the season of giving (and shopping) begins.
Prosperity Together seeks to profoundly change America’s response to women’s economic hardship, state-by-state. Together, our partners have made an ambitious, $100 million collective commitment over five years to invest in innovative programs and strategies in communities across the country that are creating pathways out of poverty for women and their families. This #GivingTuesday, Americans can stand with women’s funds and #ProsperityTogether by giving donations, goods, their time, or their voice.
“The face of poverty in the United States belongs to women and children. Women’s foundations around the country are dedicated to changing this,” said Ana Oliveira, president and CEO of The New York Women’s Foundation, a lead founder of Prosperity Together. “On November 28, this #GivingTuesday, please take a stand for women and donate to break down barriers to women's economic security.”
“This #GivingTuesday, become part of a $100 million effort to create economic security for low-income women by donating to women’s foundations. With your help, we can help communities break the cycle of poverty,” said Teresa C. Younger, president and CEO of the Ms. Foundation for Women.
