Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City Cannot Accept Donations for World Cup Parade
Big-hearted New Yorkers have been offering to pitch in to help pay for the World Cup-champion US women’s soccer team parade on Friday — only to be turned away by City Hall, The Post has learned.
Since The Post reported that corporate sponsors were falling well short of the parade’s $2 million projected tab, average Gotham residents have been flooding the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City with calls to make donations, a city government insider said....
