Long Island Holocaust Survivors and Seniors Receive COVID-19 Vaccines at UJA-Federation of New York and the Marion & Aaron Gural JCC Pop-Up Vaccine Site

In an effort to reach some of the most vulnerable residents on Long Island, UJA- Federation of New York, in partnership with The Marion & Aaron Gural JCC and Northwell Health, will open a Covid-19 pop-up vaccination site for 150 seniors, including 60 Holocaust survivors, on Sunday, February 28 at The Marion & Aaron Gural JCC’s Harrison-Kerr Family Campus, located at 140 Central Avenue, Lawrence, NY 11559. Media is invited to cover from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Healthcare providers from Northwell Health will administer doses of the Pfizer vaccine to the community residents.

 

 

 

UJA has been actively engaged and connected with Holocaust survivors and the elderly throughout the pandemic, helping these at-risk populations have the opportunity to be vaccinated in their neighborhoods where they are most comfortable. Gural JCC and UJA worked with community partners including Self Help, additional Long Island JCCs, and local synagogues to identify survivors and the most vulnerable seniors to receive vaccinations.
