Hudson Farmlink Organizers See Room for Growth - Doris Duke Foundation
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — Organizers of an online platform that connects property owners with current and aspiring farmers in search of land are already making plans to expand the year-old program.
Hudson Valley Farmlink Network was launched last year by the American Farmland Trust in partnership with 15 organizations that cover a more than 150-mile region from Westchester County, just north of New York City, to Washington and Saratoga counties, north of Albany.
People with farmland to sell or lease may post descriptions of their land on the network’s website, www.hudsonvalleyfarmlandfinder.org, which also provides listings of farmers looking for agricultural land. . .
Primary funding for Farmlink comes from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, with additional support from the state Environmental Protection Fund and the New York State Conservation Partnership Program in collaboration with the Land Trust Alliance and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and American Farmland Trust members. . .
