While women continue to advance in unprecedented ways, the journey towards full equality is still evolving. The history of that journey is also surprisingly young.
On August 26, 1920, the United States Congress ratified the 19th amendment, granting women the right to vote in U.S. elections. More than 50 years later, Congresswoman Bella Abzug introduced a resolution to commemorate August 26th as Women's Equality Day.
