Gifts From Buffett Include $150 Million For NoVo Foundation
Warren Buffett topped his previous personal giving record by donating $2.8 billion to several foundations earlier this week, including $150 million to the NoVo Foundation, where his son Peter serves as co-president.
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the biggest recipient of Buffet's latest gifts, received more than 21.7 million shares of class B stock, valued at $2.1 billion.
So far Buffett has given $23 billion as part of the Giving Pledge, which he and Bill Gates introduced in 2010 to encourage the world's wealthiest individuals to give away at least half their fortunes to philanthropy during their lifetimes….
