Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation Awards $100,000 for Community Arts Projects
 
ArtPlace America has received $100,000 from the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation to support programs to help two New Jersey arts organizations, The Noyes Museum of Art in Atlantic City and the Coopers Ferry Partnership in Camden, enchance their contributions to their local communities.
 
In addition, Noyes received $150,000 and Cooper's Ferry $475,000 from ArtPlace as part of a package of 55 grants totaling $14.7 million to support "creative placemaking projects that will work in 79 communities of all sizes across 31 states."
 
The grants support efforts of arts institutions around the country to "play an explicit and intentional role in helping to shape communities’ social, physical, and economic futures."
 
Additionally, ArtPlace awarded $400,000 to the Women's Housing and Economic Development Corporation in the Bronx to support development of the Bronx Music Heritage Center, a performance and community space to showcase and amplify the Bronx’s rich musical legacy, scheduled for completion in 2016…
