The International Rescue Committee presented its 2013 Freedom Award to George Soros in recognition of his constant advocacy and support for human rights and democracy worldwide. Soros, the Founder of the Open Society Foundations, received the award at the IRC's annual Freedom Award Benefit Dinner on November 6.
