Former Atlantic Philanthropies CEO LaMarche Questions the Power Philanthropy has over Policy
In a recent Democracy Journal article, LaMarche calls into question the sheer power that foundations have on affecting public policy. He cites the tax breaks for endowments and charitable giving as one of the benefits that philanthropists have been fighting to maintain over improved healthcare and social welfare programs.
