Ford's Walker Explores the Value of Civil Society in Recent Report
During my very first days as President of the Ford Foundation, I participated in a roundtable on civil society with the President of the United States, Barack Obama. At the meeting, he said:
"...human progress has always been propelled...by what happens in civil society - citizens coming together to insist that a better life is possible, pushing their leaders to protect the rights and dignities of all people."
I could not agree more...
