Ford Foundation Head on ‘Time’ List of 100 Influence Leaders
Darren Walker’s moves to steer the country’s second-largest grant maker toward a focus on inequality and inclusion won him a spot on Time magazine's 2016 list of the world’s most influential people.
A brief essay by Elton John credits Mr. Walker and his work with “changing the language of philanthropy, from ‘them’ and ‘they’ to ‘us’ and ‘we.’ ”
The roster of political and business leaders, artists, and activists includes several specifically cited for their philanthropy, advocacy, and social entrepreneurship, including Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg, Eli Broad, and Leonardo DiCaprio.
