The Doris Duke Charitable Foundation has announced grants totaling $8.7 million to help eighteen physician-scientists make the transition to clinical research.
 
The foundation's Clinical Scientist Development Awards program enables early-career scientists to reserve three-quarters of their professional time for independent clinical research. This year's awardees — who are engaged in a broad range of areas, from schizophrenia to antibiotic resistance — will receive up to $486,000 each over three years to conduct research and establish a laboratory....
