On Tuesday, Mayor Bill de Blasio unveiled a 30-member task force that will be charged with overhauling the city’s job-training and workforce-placement programs.
Speaking from the Brooklyn Army Terminal in Sunset Park, the mayor said the city’s training and placement programs have for too long steered New Yorkers into temporary positions and minimum-wage jobs, costing city taxpayers more than $500 million for all the training and placement programs.
