Cuomo, Schneiderman Say They'll Sue to Protect "Dreamers"
Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Attorney General Eric Schneiderman released a joint statement Monday saying they will sue to protect those who are currently under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, policy if President Donald Trump succeeds in ending the program.
The Trump administration hinted this past weekend that in six months it is planning to end the Obama-era program DACA, which grants work permits to undocumented immigrants who arrived in the country as children. The delay would give Congress time to act if it wants to retain or change the program. The president might have a formal announcement on the decision Tuesday. . .
