The math indisputably has shown that access to health care in the United States has not been easy. Even with the enactment of the Affordable Care Act, Texas has the largest number (6 million) of uninsured in the country. In El Paso alone, still 180.000 residents lack health care insurance.
 
People lacking health insurance in the United States still may receive health care at the expense of others, but not under optimal circumstances or in a timely fashion that may compromise outcomes and quality of care, resulting in higher morbidity and longer hospital stay.
