Catholic Publication Calls Funders ‘Clever’ for Funding Faith-Based Groups Supporting LGBT Rights
Catholic San Francisco called several prominent foundations "clever" for funding Catholic and other faith-based organizations that promote LGBT issues. According to the "2012 Tracking Report: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Grantmaking by U.S. Foundations," The Ford Foundation is the top funder of LGBT causes, followed by the Arcus foundation, with Open Society Foundations coming in fourth.
From 2008 to 2013, the Ford Foundation contributed $3.3 million to faith-based organizations that support LGBT causes, while the Arcus Foundation has distributed $1.5 million since 2010 and Open Society Foundations has granted nearly $1.4 million since 2009....
