Bloomberg Philanthropies' Global "To Do" List Has Familiar Look
As mayor, Michael Bloomberg fought against smoking and sugary drinks in NYC and now--as a philanthropist--he's taking those fights, along with other efforts to save and improve lives, to cities and countries around the world.
Bloomberg Philanthropies has a number of ambitious international goals on its to-do list, and they include sharply reducing high smoking rates in Turkey, Indonesia and other countries; bringing down obesity levels in Mexico; reducing traffic in Rio de Janeiro; improving road safety in India and Kenya; and preventing deaths at childbirth to mothers in Tanzania....
