Bay Area Arts, Education Nonprofits to Receive Hearst Grants
The Hearst Foundations this week announced more than $1.5 million in grants for California nonprofits, including more than $800,000 for Bay Area initiatives.
The largest of the area grants went to UC Berkeley, which received $250,000 for marketing initiatives and educational programs at the Phoebe A. Hearst Museum of Anthropology.
Two San Francisco organizations received $200,000 each: The American Conservatory Theater Foundation will use the money for education and outreach initiatives, and That Man May See, a nonprofit that supports vision research and patient care, will use its grant for an ongoing capital campaign...
