ALBANY — Assembly Democrats Thursday called for the repeal of a tax break for companies that hire teen workers. Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver said the controversial tax credit encourages businesses to hire students earning the minimum wage in place of higher-paid older and nonstudent workers.
