Announcing the Milbank Memorial Fund and AcademyHealth State and Local Innovation Prize
The Milbank Memorial Fund has teamed up with AcademyHealth to establish a new annual award that recognizes state and local efforts to advance innovation using data to improve the health of populations and the performance of health systems.
The prize was created to draw attention to, and reward, the efforts of state and local governments to develop and use data to achieve measurable improvements in the health of a population. The recipient(s) of the inaugural award will be recognized on the main stage at the 2018 Health Datapalooza, an annual conference sponsored by AcademyHealth.
“The Fund is dedicated to helping policymakers use the best evidence to improve population health,” said Rachel Block, program officer at the Fund. “This work requires robust data not only from health care, but also from public health and human services. This award recognizes the advances officials have made to build more integrated data capacity and create the tools to analyze and use that data. We’re excited to have a role in developing this award—to recognize the innovators and to inspire other government policymakers in their efforts to use data to improve health.”
Nominations are now being accepted through March 6, 2018. Learn more about the prize and how to nominate.
